Truck Trend Magazine got to take the all new Suzuki Equator Crew Cab pickup for a test drive. By the way, Ferguson Superstore located at 1501 N Elm Place Broken Arrow, OK 74012 has new and pre-owned models in stock - just in case you wanted to try a vehicle out for yourself. Let's get to the goodies.
Suzuki Equator Crew Cab 4x4 (Base price: $30,365 - Price as tested: $30,847) is equipped with a 4.0-liter V6 engine, making 261-horsepower and 281-lb-ft of torque when matted to a five-speed automatic. It's a strong combination that helps this workhorse hit the 0 - 60 mark in 7.7 seconds.
"On a 700-mile round trip from Orange County, California, to Kingman, Arizona, we averaged 17.1 mpg with a bed half full of boxes," according to Truck Trend. Official EPA estimates rate Equator at 15 MPG city, 19 MPG highway - so the 17.1 number is a pretty accurate combined city/highway number.1
The 4x4 variant is outfitted with Bilstein shocks, keeping your ride smooth on most terrains, urban or rural. There's an optional $600 Garmin portable navigation system, as well as RMZ-4 Moto bed extender for $359 extra. This sleek looking truck is able to comfortably fit four adults and a child seat.
Four-wheel-drive system with hill hold / hill descent control is great for when shooting up or down hills in the countryside. It's an extra bit of help when your hauling a rear full of wood, leaf bags and tree stumps.
Best of all, Equator is the only truck backed by a 100,000-mile/7-year limited powertrain warranty.
