If you've been paying attention to BMW news as of late, you're sure to have heard of the luxury automaker's exclusive, new eAssist technology now featured in the 2012 Buick LaCrosse and 2012 Buick Regal. Given the complex nature of the fuel-saving technology, however, you might not fully understand exactly how it works. Ferguson Superstore assures you that you're not alone.
To help drivers understand and hopefully appreciate the value eAssist technology will bring to their lives, Buick has developed an online learning center (http://www.buick.com/eassist-fuel-efficient-technology.html), featuring three interactive games: "Regeneration Road", "Wind Tunnel Tester" and "Roll & Boost". Each may be played in a few short minutes online or on Apple- or Android-enabled smartphones.
In "Regeneration Road", players are tasked with using the Buick eAssist technology's regenerative braking technology to maximize fuel economy. The way regenerative braking works is by transforming forward momentum into energy reserves when the vehicle slows or stops. After selecting one of three destinations (i.e., local market, cafe, and public garden), participants use the up and down arrow keys to accelerate or decelerate. The goal of the game is to arrive at the destination selected with the most gas left in the tank.
In "Wind Tunnel Tester", players are tasked with designing different vehicles and driving them through a virtual wind tunnel. The ultimate point of the game is to drive home the fact Buick spent thousands of hours giving the new LaCrosse the most advanced aerodynamic body possible.
Last but not least is "Roll & Boost" designed to demonstrate to drivers how good driving habits can serve to add energy reserves to the Buick model's li-ion battery and offer a quick, on-demand boost of power when drivers demand to go farther. Players earn electric charge via energy-efficient driving, collect coins along the way for refuel, and receive medals for overall progress.
If you're one of the many drivers who learn best by doing, Ferguson Superstore recommends you give Buick's new games a try today. Of course, if you have any follow-up questions, or are someone who learns better by having an expert explain something to them, you can always contact Ferguson Superstore online, call 888-735-9621, or swing by and visit us in person at 1501 N Elm Place Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
