Auto makers wish to be green in today's market, which was why the Tokyo Motor Show has "Go Green" as their motto. Suzuki is about to reach the head of the pack with their hybrid Suzuki Swift plug-in.

Those Swift models at Ferguson Superstore in Broken Arrow, OK are already very fuel efficient, but imagine not stopping for gas all the time!

Swift EV is going to change how the world views hybrid cars, at least the Japanese auto maker hopes so. Batteries in the Swift are smaller in size, compared to other vehicles that run totally on liquid fuel and electricity. This produces a lighter weight, so it requires less power to function and travels faster without sucking up energy.

The hybrid systems offers upwards of 18 miles on electricity alone, before its small gas motor kicks in. That same motor constantly recharges the lithium ion batteries. 

Mr. Hajime Mayuyama, GM of Suzuki Electric Drive Vehicle Department, said that Swift EV's engine "will be a model that would be used in other Suzuki models as well."¹
