A brand new Suzuki Swift was the 2 millionth model to roll off the company's Hungarian assembly line last week.The red Swift was driven by deputy head of the Hungarian Olympic Committee Zsolt Gyulay. Suzuki is supporting the Hungarian Olympic Committee with 50 vehicles until the London Summer Olympics.
Suzuki is also marking the 20th anniversary of its Esztergom, Hungary plant. Hungarians who have qualified for the London Summer Olympics were present at the anniversary in Esztergom.Suzuki CEO Hisashi Takeuchi was on hand for this historic occasion. "I can say with assurance that our company is a Hungarian business," he said.1Magyar Suzuki employs 3,400 people but 18,000 people work for its primary suppliers and another 32,600 jobs at 84 companies are there thanks to Suzuki, Hisashi Takeuchi said. These 40,000 jobs account for about 1% of all workplaces in Hungary, he added.2
